Aaron Rodgers Signs Extension with Colliders

Aaron Rodgers’ excellent off-season has culminated with a contract extension.

BATAVIA, IL

Sources close to Batavia Colliders’ GM Josh Hammond confirmed today that the Colliders have reached an agreement with quarterback Aaron Rodgers that will keep him in Batavia through the 2014 season.

Rodgers, who was about to enter the final year of his contract, inked a 3-year deal for just under $174, with roughly $75 in guaranteed money.

Rodgers is coming off of an MVP season that ended with a championship ring.

“It’s a great feeling,” Rodgers said Saturday.  “Just knowing that I can stay and be a part of this winning tradition here in Batavia.  I think we have the talent to make another run at the title.”

The Colliders management took advantage of a rule change that allowed them to extend Rodgers.  Had the rule failed to pass, then the Colliders would have had to apply the franchise tag next season, at a considerably higher cost.

“I wasn’t really a huge fan of this rule change,”  Hammond quipped, “but we will do all that we can within the framework of the rules to bring more championships to Batavia.”

Bookmakers are currently giving the Colliders 13/2 odds to repeat as SCUFFLE champions.
