Today was a day that was full of activity in the SCUFFLE Immersion. Let’s break it down.
The action really started last night, when the Fransburg (r)EvoLUtion traded Peyton Manning to the Sweet Home Gridiron Gang. Fransburg got several draft picks in compensation, including a first rounder next season. Manning, of course, became expendable when the (r)EvoLUtion traded a first round draft pick to the Batavia Colliders for Russell Wilson.
Upon passing his physical for Sweet Home, Manning was immediately inked to a contract extension with the Gridiron Gang, which made QB Brandon Weeden expendable. Weeden was cut. The restructuring of Manning’s deal and the cutting of Weeden freed up some cap space, which will presumably be used to pay for newly acquired CB Antoine Winfield‘s holdout demands. Winfield came to Sweet Home from Bestine, who received S Thomas Decoud in return. You got all that?
The defending champion Marshfield Pirates came to terms with the North Point Chitons on a blockbuster deal today. The Pirates sent RB Jacquizz Rodgers, WR Vincent Jackson, WR Andre Johnson, TE Jared Cook, LB Novorro Bowman, and two first round draft picks (1.09 and 1.12) to the Chitons in exchange for TE Jimmy Graham and LB Luke Kuechly.
The move is interesting, because Andre Johnson was signed to a contract extension just last year. Furthermore, Vincent Jackson and Novorro Bowman are about to enter free agency, so the only way for the Chitons to keep them is if they apply the franchise tag.
The Chitons join the CornChutes, having three first round draft picks in this year’s draft (the Colliders have two.)
The Pirates have begun the process of clearing some cap space, which they will need in order to apply the franchise tag to QB Tom Brady.
With just over a month to go before the start of the new league year, it’s possible that we’ll see even more wheeling and dealing.

Thanks for doing this (so I didnt have to). The Chitons were well aware of guys that need to be tagging. VJax is a pretty solid tag. Bowman could go either way, but if we’re being completely honest, if I have the money, I would tag him.
And we all know I dont do this draft thing …
