In recent weeks, the Cleveland Battery have been spiraling toward the bottom of the power rankings and, more importantly, the league standings. At the same time, new ownership has undertaken an in-season reconstruction of the entire roster.
Recent subtractions include the waiving of underproducing, overpaid veteran RB MJD and the trading of currently producing RB Matt Forte and WR Eric Decker.
Trades have provided the Battery with some extra draft picks in 2014. Their coffers are full and ready to spend on free agents next year. They are looking to improve across the board with a focus on fresh, young RBs and CBs.
In a sign of what is to come, the BatteryBattery are started 7 rookies in their matchup this week: RB Joseph Randle, WRs Keenan Allen, Robert Woods, and Terrence Williams, K Caleb Sturgis, DE Sheldon Richardson, and S Tyrann Mathieu. The future looks young.
