52 Fransburg Drive – The (r)EvoLUtion have decided to part ways with six players in a move tied to roster space. “With only 35 active roster spots and 5 taxi squad spots, we have to be sure that we’re filling those slots with players that can help us win games,” said Fransburg Director of Player Personnel Adam Franssen. “Don’t get me wrong, these guys have value. It’s just not the type of value that can be traded or quantified in any meaningful way.”
Let’s check out the carnage:
1. RB Benny Cunningham ($0.50 cap hit)
While there’s a chance Benny will serve as the Rams’ 3rd down back for the first month or so of next season, the selection of Todd Gurley in the first round of the NFL draft really deflated his already minimal value.
2. WR Kenny Britt ($0.55 hit)
Another Ram. I apparently hate them. This will be the year that Britt finally takes off – get him while he’s hot! But have you seen our WR corps? When am I ever going to start him?
3. WR Terrance Williams ($1.65 hit)
Oof. This hurts. I traded for Williams in hopes that he would flourish opposite Dez Bryant. PLUS, he’s an RFA. Instead, Williams served as an inconsistent, touchdown-dependent WR that is impossible to trust. That trade isn’t looking so hot right now. Kinda like the Trevathan trade.
4. DE Everson Griffin ($0.55)
I like Griffin and feel like a beast for identifying him as a breakout player two years ago. Makes me want to describe my scouting department as “shrewd” and “savvy”. But you know what? I’m not sitting around for the first six weeks with him doing nothing on my bench as a holdout. Maybe I’ll even pick him up again in the offseason – you don’t know.
5. LB Emanuel Lamur ($0.50 hit)
Now I’m just getting cut crazy. In my defense, Lamur, for all his big-play ability – only cracked 10 points once last year. Super.
6. LB Prince Shembo ($0.50 hit)
I took a shot on Shembo last year after Sean Witherspoon was injured; the coaching staff moved Shembo inside, giving him an opportunity to earn big-time snaps. Alas, he did not, splitting instead with Joplo Bartu and finishing with only 59 tackles. Now, new defensive-minded HC Dan Quinn is putting Shembo in Bruce Irvin’s spot. Cool, right? Cool, if you like 88 points/year from your LB…
In total, the (r)EvoLUtion are out another $4.25 on their 2015 cap. More importantly, though, we’ve freed up six roster spots on our quest to get to 35 players. I’m sure management will fill up any possible space with rookies and FA’s that we can cut next season.

Kenny Britt’s a $0.95 cap hit. Nice try on stealing $0.40 from the league, cheater.
Also, Prince Shembo totally raped that woman at Notre Dame, so eff that guy.
