Marshfield – For at least one more week, the job is his to lose.
Despite a flurry of activity in the Pirate front office earlier this week, it was Tom Brady taking first team reps during Marshfield’s Thursday morning walkthough. All efforts to acquire a new quarterback for the 2-time defending champs were rendered fruitless. And with backup QB Carson Palmer still injured and not likely to play anytime soon, and rookie QB David Carr “not NFL ready”, this has many pundits understandably worried about the future of the Pirates season.
“Look, I’m not playing my best right now,” Brady said, doing his best to reassure observers after practice. “But I’m going to go out there and play like it’s the Super Bowl, like I do every week.”
Players like Christian “1 foot, 2 inch” Kirksey defended his quarterback. “The fact remains that we are 3-1 right now. Say all you want about the man, we are 3-1 right now.”
While many experts put the blame on the QB, there are many who argue that Brady simply doesn’t have enough weapons around him this year.
“The threat of the Pirate running attack is simply non-existent right now,” said one beat writer. “We let AP go, we let Lynch go … Foster cant stay healthy … we are putting too much pressure on McCoy and he’s not stepping up. With no threat of the run, its no wonder Brady is struggling. If anything, we should be blaming management. I blame Jason Enright!”
During a Thursday press conference, Enright had a chance to speak. When asked about the possibility of another quarterback starting this week, he was quoted as saying:
“We’re on to Bestine.”
When asked about the running game struggles, he was quoted as saying:
“We’re on to Bestine.”
When asked if he felt his job was in jeopardy, he was quoted as saying:
“We’re on to Bestine.”
Indeed.

Bwahahaha! Awesome article, Enright!
I mean, the letting AP go seems like the right move by management. I’m so glad I laid off of Foster. He’s done. DONE I SAY. He’s nothing like 2010 Arian Foster, which was fucking awesome (especially in that he only cost $10 then.)
I’m not exactly hating my decision to sign Foster, so much as I am ruing not franchising Lynch.
Haha. Nice. I particularly enjoy the Belichoke impersonation at the end.
Real life impersonations are the best
