Site Updates
Here are some of the things I’ve been working on:
- I’ve upgraded to the 2026 MFL site. I’ve already paid for it so you can reimburse me by submitting your league dues for 2026.
- Adam, Jim, and I hosted the SCUFFLE Immersion Draft Lottery Show. You can watch it, or just take a look at the 2026 draft order.
- I’ve updated the League Awards with the fresh banners.
- I updated the rosters to reflect the 2026 season. You can also see the 2026 Salary Cap spreadsheet.
- Here is the list of 2026 free agents. Please note that some of these guys won’t actually be available because they might get the franchise tag or could be option-eligible.
- I have updated the Database with lots of new info:
- I have also generated some reports you can use:
- 2025 Top Salaries (for determining franchise tags and holdout costs)
- 2026 Holdouts (these guys demand more money!)
- 2026 Option-Eligible Players
League Year is July 1st!
Now that I’m settled in the land of 10,000 lakes we can return to our ordinary schedule. Here is what YOU need to do by July 1st!
- Decide if you want to apply the option to any option-eligible players. You will simply email me a yay or nay.
- Decide if you want to apply the franchise tag to any of your players. The franchise tag can be applied to one offensive and one defensive player with expiring contracts (for the purposes of this, a K is on offense and a P is on defense.) The player must have an expiring contract and he mustn’t have been tagged before. You will need to pay the franchise tag prices found on the Top Salaries page. Note that the franchise tag for wide receivers is extremely high this year because some jerk dropped $178 on Justin Jefferson and Amon-Ra St. Brown last year.
- Make any rule change suggestions on the blog site. I know some people were frustrated about missing the playoffs last year due to our relegation system. Maybe you want to suggest a change to the playoff format. Or perhaps the time is right to introduce a superflex (QB) position. Whatever you think might make the league better, now is your chance to put it to a vote.
- If you want to make any transactions (ie, cut players), please let me know via email. Designate them as a pre-July 1st cut or a post-July 1st cut. Pre-July 1st cuts will count against the 2026 cap. Instead of kicking the can down the road, you’ll take your medicine now and be done with it. The advantage is that the cap hit will be based on the 2025 salary, which is somewhat lower than the 2026 salary. Post-July 1st cuts will count against the 2027 cap. The advantage is that you don’t pay the hit this season. The disadvantage is that it will be slightly higher and you’re just pushing your problems into the future.
- Do you want to restructure any contracts? Review how that works and let me know via email before July 1st. I can also help with that if you need it.
Auction and Draft
The free agent auction will start on July 1st. The rookie draft will start on August 1st. The formats of these won’t be changing, so you can expect more of the same.
Questions?
Just shoot me an email or text if you have any questions. If you want to make changes to your roster, please make sure that comes through on email so I have a record of it. I’m old, and I might forget otherwise.
Happy 2026 Fantasy Football Offseason!
