Superflex and Tiered PPR Proposal

Hey, Adam asked me to pop this onto the blog so we could vote on his proposals. I’ll be pasting from the email he sent.

Superflex

Move to Superflex. Our QBs score points, but there are enough QBs for each team to score about the same points with their QB1. Superflex will make QBs 10-14 very interesting and put some strategy into the position.

Should we add a superflex position?

  • Yes (70%, 7 Votes)
  • No (30%, 3 Votes)

Tiered PPR Setting

Move to a tired PPR setting: 0.5ppr for RBs, 0.7ppr for WRs, 1.0 ppr for TEs. WRs are underpowered and after the top 2 players (Puka and JSN), there was a giant middle tier. Upping the ppr will help w/o washing out RBs. TEs are basically useless in our format outside of the top 3 guys. Going full ppr will make TEs 6-15 usable.

Should we approve the suggested tiered PPR system?

  • Yes (90%, 9 Votes)
  • No (10%, 1 Votes)

HOWEVER – Adam meant to increase the difference between RBs and WRs. So, given that we’ve passed the tiered system, please vote below on which point system you prefer (default would be what you voted for above).

Which tiered-PPR System looks better to you?

  • RB: 0.5 PPR / WR 0.7 PPR / TE 1.0 PPR (Current System) (60%, 3 Votes)
  • RB 0.5 PPR / WR 1.0 PPR / TE 1.25 PPR (Franssen Special) (40%, 2 Votes)

  1. I will note that for Adam’s second proposal the only change would be TE’s moving from 0.7 ppr to 1.0 ppr. RB’s are currently 0.5 ppr and WRs are currently 0.7 ppr.

  2. How does the potential move to superflex change the starting lineup requirements? One less offensive flex? (which would make sense) Or an extra starter? (which I dont like)

I’m not quite sure how I feel. Superflex changes alot of the dynamics of a league, all the way down to the rookie draft. But I think, rather than a superflex, I would rather have an OP spot, where it *can* be a QB, but doesnt have to be. Maybe.

  3. i can’t believe we’re doing superflex.. i guess i’ll just have to envision it as some sort of wildcat formation thingy. Taysom Hills for all.
