Schedule Change

Aaron Rodgers wasn’t in uniform for Immersion Bowl II.

* THIS RULE HAS PASSED *

I know this is pretty late in the game, as far as rule change proposals go, but I had to wait and see what happened to home field advantage.

When we had home field advantage, then we were stuck with a 14-game regular season to insure that each owner got 7 home games and the extra points that went with them.  That was only fair.

However, the 14 game schedule means that you have to play the championship game in week 17. Initially, I didn’t think it would be that big a deal…I mean, after all, we start 17 players.  If a couple sit, it won’t matter that much.

Then I found myself in the championship game. The highest scoring player in the league, Aaron Rodgers, wasn’t even going to play a half.  He was out.  About five minutes before kickoff, Arian Foster was declared out.  It made me crazy.

Of course, my team was still so much stronger than Giorgianni’s poseur squad, so disaster was averted, but it still sucked much harder than I thought it would.  It was not fun to watch my best players joke around with teammates on the sideline while not playing.

So, now that home field advantage is gone, I propose a 13-game regular season schedule.  There is a packaged schedule that will still allow us to play division rivals twice, and then have 7 out-of-division games.  The only drawback is that there will be one team you don’t play against in the regular season.  The upside, though, is that we can have the title game in week 16, where God intended it.

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.
