Fitzy to Stay in Fransburg

Fitzgerald celebrates the Fransburg signing. Seriously. It’s not like this photo was taken at some unrelated function and just pasted in here as if it were a fantasy event. It’s legit, trust me.

Fransburg– Just before the official close of the 2011 SCUFFLE Immersion season, (r)EvoLUtion GM Adam Franssen took advantage of the new restructuring rules to extend star WR Larry Fitzgerald.”We’re thrilled to have Larry on board for the next three seasons,” said Adam.  “Despite consistently crappy QB play, he continues to perform as a Top 10 WR.”

That Top 10 performance netted Fitzgerald a Top 5 contract, starting at $26.84 for the 2012 season.

“Great to be locked up for three years in Fransburg,” posted Larry on his personal website.  “We tasted the champagne in 2010 and hope to do so again in 2012!”

Not everyone was all smiles when hearing the news, however.  Management has made it clear that fellow WR Jeremy Maclin will NOT be getting an extension heading into the last year of his contract.

“It would cost us $20 to sign Maclin to an extension this year and only save around $7 vs. the franchise tag next season.  We’re hoping that Jeremy can have a consistently great year for us in 2012, at which point we’ll be more than happy to shell out franchise dough in 2013.”

Also outside looking in are TE Antonio Gates (no real savings over the franchise tag) and LBs Karlos Dansby & Jarod Mayo (they’re linebackers).  None of the non-extended players were interviewed for this article because, honestly, who gives a crap about what a disgruntled player might say?

The Fransburg Brass are certainly hoping that these are the right off-season moves and that they don’t blow up in their faces like the franchising of Jamaal Charles and Justin Tuck did in 2011.
