In the SCUFFLE Immersion, there is no offseason. That tenet held true this week, as more trades and transactions occurred in the days following Tax Day, Trade Day.
Unsurprisingly, the Fransburg (r)EvoLUtion were involved in another big deal, this time with the Bestine Banthas. Fransburg sent newly-expendable quarterback Jay Cutler, DT Marcel Dareus, DE Cameron Jordan, S Reggie Nelson, and a 4th round draft pick to Bestine for QB Ryan Tannehill and LB KJ Wright.
Fransburg got to unload some salary, as they seem to be getting their financial ship in order for the long term, and the Banthas bolstered their defense in a big way.
Fransburg didn’t stop there, though. They unloaded DE Mario Williams and CB Janoris Jenkins; the Silvertips acquired the promising defenders by sending WR Vincent Brown and a 2nd round draft pick to the (r)EvoLUtion.
Another active team this offseason is the Sweet Home Gridiron Gang. Acquiring Peyton Manning gave them instant legitimacy, and also made his little brother Eli expendable. The Gang sent Eli Manning to the North Point Chitions for pass rushing specialist DeMarcus Ware.
Offseason activity hasn’t been limited to trades, though. For one, the Gridiron Gang restructured Peyton Manning’s contract, and will now have his services through 2015.
Two players have already received the franchise tag. Quarterback Drew Brees will once again be at the helm for the DownState CornChutes, to the tune of $47.08. The CornChutes have remade their roster, and hold the 4th, 5th, and 6th draft picks this year. They are a team on the rise.
The Bestine Banthas didn’t take any chances with Adrian Peterson going to free agency. They applied the franchise tag as well; AP has the richest contract ever, making $72.74 in 2013.

Nice update. It’s great to see the Franchise Tags, too. I may be tipping my hand here, but Antonio Gates will NOT be getting the tag on the offensive and and J. Mayo isn’t worth $19 under the new Reggie Mckenz-ian philosophy the Fransburg brass have adopted in an effort to save their jobs.
