AP – The 2012 off-season got off to an early start at (r)EvoLUtion headquarters in Fransburg today. Owner/GM Adam Franssen had some time on his hands as he desperately avoided doing real work.
“I took a look at the roster page for the first time in a few weeks,” Adam admitted, “it brought back all the pain of having such a shitty Title Defense.”
That pain led to pink slips being handed out all over the roster, from running back and wide receiver to defensive tackle and safety. The one exception for good news will likely come to running back Ahmad Bradshaw, who, barring a major injury through the rest of the playoffs and early off-season, will have his holdout price met. No such luck for Mike Tolbert, who has already been informed that he’ll be sitting out the first 7 games of next season because no one in their right mind would pay him over $40. I mean, honestly.
In any case, the cut players are:
RB Chris Ogbannaya – flier that never took off with Hillis & Hardesty out. WR Dane Sanzenbacher – not the next Wes Welker, it turns out DT Phil Taylor – holding out for $5.60 at DT. What a joke. LB Casey Matthews – couldn’t hold onto the starting MLB job in PHI CB Jason McCourty – signed for too long to justify the holdout costs S Morgan Burnett – too many safties spring up for holdout to be met
The moves will cost the (r)EvoLUtion $8.45 in 2011 cap hits, but clear $18.59 in cap space, making room for Franssen to select another under-achieving early round draft pick.

Awesome stuff, dude! I’m so excited to see an article written by someone other than me! I agree on the corners and safeties…the top players are different from year to year. I’m going to need to clear some cap space myself. Maybe I can take a look at it tonight, since I have to stay at work for “Open House.”

I’ve been meaning to throw together an article of some sort, but have been surprisingly swamped as of late.
So I noticed Adam dropped a lot of players who were on their last year of contract … we can go ahead and do that and see what our next years team looks like without penalty?
